Unterholzhof Organic Farm
Away from the hectic life at home, your stay on the idyllic Unerholzhof allows for a scenery change and relaxation while exploring nature and various activities on and around the grand mountains of the Hohe Tauern. This is managed by the Steiner family. They put a lot of emphasis on sustainability and organic food production. With us you wake up every morning with a beautiful view of the Pinzgauer Sonnberg and the famous Schmittenhöhe. In the evening you go to bed with a romantic view of the sea of lights of the Pinzgau villages. Our farm has a vacation apartmentwith six beds and a vacation housewith ten beds. Our organic farm is especially popular with families and sports enthusiasts, as it is located directly in the regionHohe Tauern and the hiking area Piesendorf – Niedernsill. The Kitzsteinhorn glacier and the alpine town of Zell am See can be reached in just 15 minutes.
During the farm vacation we offer them the closeness to nature and specialties from a biological food production.
With us they can help on the farm, get to know our animals (children accompanied by parents), enjoy a romantic carriage ride, or find out how traditional farm products are made. You can recharge your batteries during a walk through nature and enjoy the Hohe Tauern region.
History of the farm.
The farm has been owned by the Steiner family since 1910. In 1950, Rupert Steiner’s feeder was bought by his brother Johann. Today, this serves as a vacation home and is especially appreciated by families and larger travel groups of up to ten people. Agriculture includes 38 hectares and about 55 head of livestock. The farm has been managed organically since 1993, and products have always been produced and sold by the farm itself.
We always strive to keep farming at the most modern level and prioritize animal welfare and health. The alpine location of the farm at 1,000 m above sea level requires the adaptation of harvesting methods. We use traditional techniques to cultivate the fields and meadows, some of which are difficult to access. One of our main priorities is the realization of biodiversity and a more holistic approach to agriculture.
Our products can be bought direktly on the farm but also in our online shop
Honey, schnapps and much more are produced by ourselves and are available from the farm as well as in our Webshop sold. We also invite you to taste our spirits, liqueurs, and gin in advance and inform you about our products and their production. Furthermore, we also produce various herbal salts, jams, juices, and dairy products ourselves and have our own apiary for honey production.
A special feature of our farm for all mountain bike athletes.
Since 2022 it is possible to get a professional suspension fork and shock service on their mountain bike. The son-in-law of the house, Jelle Beenker, is your contact person for everything concerning bicycles and is happy to help with repairs and services. You can find more information on this under
